New Plymouth Girls’ High School is based in the beautiful Taranaki region. New Plymouth is a vibrant and contemporary city, known for its sunny climate, art galleries, stunning surf beaches, walkways and parks.
We are looking for an innovative Science Teacher who demonstrates excellence in the classroom and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for students. This position will involve teaching junior science along with physics and/or biology, with the ability to teach plant science as an additional subject being an advantage. We are seeking a teacher with a strong knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum who can work collaboratively and can create engaging classroom environments that inspire and support all learners.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from (beginning 2027) $64,119 to $107,886 depending on applicants' qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
Applicants must have current NZ teacher registration and be eligible to work in New Zealand.
