Job summary

Sacred Heart College (Auckland) Auckland is seeking a motivated Science Teacher to join our collegial team from January 2027. You will teach Science to Secondary students (Years 7–13) in a well-resourced facility as part of a team of ten Science teachers and technicians.

The role is full-time and fixed-term (Jan 28 2027 – Jan 27 2028) with base salary aligned to the Secondary Teachers' CA; appointment will reflect qualifications and experience. Term 1 2027 start.

Responsibilities

• Teach science to Years 7–13 (secondary) and wharekura

Commence 2027 in a new design concept, well-resourced Science facility where you will be valued for your expertise and passion. As an engaging and motivated teacher, you will thrive on working within well-resourced laboratories. With a cohesive team of 10 Science teachers and a fulltime and parttime technician, you will enthuse and extend learners from Years 7 to 13 and teach.

The successful applicant will be required to support the Special Character of the college, be committed to excellence, and participate in the school’s co-curricular programme. Position commences Term 1, 2027.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (CA).

The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62,862 – $105,686.00 depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed. Hours of work will be as set out in the STCA.
