Job summary

Inspired Education Group is seeking an experienced School Caretaker for its Henderson, Auckland site. The role involves hands-on grounds maintenance, safety checks, and general upkeep across a large site.

We are looking for a practical, proactive individual with strong communication skills, a clean NZ driver’s licence, and a willingness to tackle varied tasks from gardening to door hanging. Permanent, full-time hours to be negotiated.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with the local community.
• Highly organised and proactive with multiple priorities.
• Professional, reliable and people-focused.
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, manual work.
• Holder of a clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence (essential).
• First Aid certification is an advantage but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance (gardening, weed-eating, spraying, water blasting).
• Perform routine recycling duties and paper recycling management.
• Complete window cleaning across site facilities.
• Monitor carparks and report safety or access issues.
• Conduct regular playground inspections for safety and compliance.
• Perform evacuation checks and support site safety procedures.
• Undertake basic lighting maintenance and minor plumbing tasks.
• Assist with general workshop maintenance and upkeep.
• Safely operate and handle power tools as required.
• Carry out physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, safely.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
