ACG Sunderland in Henderson, Auckland seeks an experienced Caretaker to perform hands-on maintenance across the 9-acre campus. Responsibilities include gardening, window cleaning, recycling, safety inspections, and basic trades tasks. The role is permanent and full-time, with 30–40 hours per week negotiated.

The ideal candidate is physically fit, an effective communicator, and holds a clean NZ driver’s licence. First Aid is an advantage but not required.

We are looking for an experienced Caretaker who is ‘hands on’ (perhaps with Trade experience) and is able to hit the ground running in various tasks from gardening to playground inspections to hanging doors as well as general maintenance activities. This position is permanent, full-time, working hours to be negotiated (30-40 per week).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out general grounds maintenance, including gardening, weed-eating, spraying, and water blasting
• Perform routine recycling duties, including paper recycling management
• Complete window cleaning across site facilities
• Monitor carparks and report any safety or access issues
• Conduct regular playground inspections to ensure safety and compliance
• Perform evacuation checks and support site safety procedures
• Undertake basic lighting maintenance and minor plumbing tasks
• Assist with general workshop maintenance and upkeep
• Safely operate and handle power tools as required
• Carry out physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, in a safe manner
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A confident and personable communicator who enjoys engaging with the local community
• Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to juggle competing priorities
• Professional, reliable, and naturally people focused
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands on, manual work
• Holder of a clean, full New Zealand driver’s licence (essential)
• First Aid certification is an advantage but not required
