Job summary

ONE Tree Hill College in Auckland Central is seeking a dedicated Sports Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this full-time role, you will work with the Sports Director to manage and coordinate all sports activities and programmes for students, promoting healthy lifestyles and teamwork.

You will oversee planning, logistics of events and budgets, liaise with coaches and families, and mentor student leaders to deliver engaging programmes while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in sports management or a related field.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of sports rules, regulations and best practices.
• Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles among young people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, organisation, and delivery of a diverse range of sports and recreational activities for students.
• Coordinate logistics of sports events, tournaments, and competitions, including scheduling, transportation, and equipment management.
• Some work outside normal hours, with some Saturday work required.
• Liaise with coaches, parents, and community sports organisations to ensure smooth operation of sports programmes.
• Assist to manage the school's sports budget and ensure efficient utilisation of resources.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase student participation and engagement in sports.
• Promote and market sports activities to the school community.
• Provide mentorship and support to student sports leaders and teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and health regulations.
