Job summary

Postgate School in Porirua, near Wellington, is seeking a committed, collaborative certificated teacher for a full-time fixed-term role covering Years 1–8. The position starts 27/01/2027 and ends 17/12/2027 (teacher on a year’s leave).

You will teach across the primary/intermediate curriculum and contribute to a culture of belonging, high expectations and strong whānau partnerships, with opportunities for ongoing professional learning.

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher status.
• Desirable experience with Structured Literacy/phonics (BSLA).
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Teach across the primary/intermediate curriculum (Years 1–8) including English, health and physical education, mathematics and statistics, science, social sciences, technology, te reo Māori and The arts.
• Foster positive, collaborative relationships with students, whānau and colleagues, and contribute to ongoing professional growth.
