Job summary

Arthur Street School in Otago is seeking an effective Scale A teacher for Years 5-6 to join a supportive team in a brand-new environment. The role runs full time on a fixed-term basis from January 2027 to October 2027 (maternity leave) and emphasizes high-quality literacy and numeracy programs.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with staff, students and the wider community while contributing to our cultural polyfest/kapa haka group and possibly music activities.

Qualifications

  • Qualified and certificated teacher with current registration.

Scale A teacher (Year 5-6) starting Term 1 2027 finishing at the end of Term 3 2027.

We are seeking an effective teacher, with high expectations for student achievement and the ability to work collaboratively. Your strengths will be in; engaging children in high-quality literacy and numeracy programmes, along with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students and the wider community. An advantage would be if you possess the drive and passion to contribute to our cultural polyfest/kapa haka group and/or love music.
