Job summary

Mt Richmond Specialist School in Auckland is seeking 3 Scale A classroom teachers for full-time, permanent positions, starting Term 4, 2026 (negotiable). An early start is preferred to allow induction, team integration, and classroom setup ahead of the 2027 school year.

The ideal candidates will be NZ registered primary teachers with strong expertise in working with students with special needs; knowledge of autism is advantageous, and a special education qualification or relevant professional

Qualifications

• NZ registered primary teacher with strong expertise in working with students with special needs.
• Knowledge of autism advantageous.
• Special education qualification and/or relevant professional development.
• Experience in innovative learning environments; knowledge of Reggio Emilia philosophy advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Te Reo Māori or a Pasifika language.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support students with high and complex needs.
• Lead and work with whanau/caregivers in a caring and supportive manner.
• Assist with induction, team integration and classroom setup ahead of the 2027 school year.
