Job summary

Pātoka School is seeking enthusiastic teachers to join our 2027 team. The role combines a permanent 0.6 FTE with a fixed-term 0.4 FTE for 2027, due to temporary roll-growth funding.

You will lead learning in either our Senior or Junior Classroom across a two-classroom setup with Year 0–4 or Year 4–8, flexible based on strengths. We welcome candidates who bring energy, commitment and a love of in-place learning, with opportunities to engage with local environments and a supportive school culture.

Qualifications

• Permanent 0.6 FTTE plus fixed-term 0.4 FTTE for 2027 due to funding.
• Ability to lead learning in either Senior or Junior Classroom.
• Experience in multi-level Year 0–8 settings and community engagement.

Responsibilities

We have 34 students spread over two classrooms - Junior Year 0 - 4 or Senior Year 4 - 8. There is flexibility as to which multi-level classroom you will teach, depending upon the skills and capabilities of the successful applicant.

This position qualifies for the Teacher Bonding Scheme (TBS), Staffing Incentive Allowance (SIA) and the School House may also be available to an exceptional candidate. Please note this position is permanent 0.6 FTTE and a fixed term of 0.4 FTTE for the 2027 school year.

The teacher recruited into this vacancy will receive annual TBS payments accumulating to a maximum of $40,000 (before tax) after 5 years.
