Job summary

Animates Holdings NZ Ltd in Blenheim is seeking a friendly, flexible retail assistant for a casual role. You'll join a busy store and support pet parents with product advice, lifestyle tips, and order fulfilment, including weekend and public holiday shifts.

You’ll build product knowledge, assist with eCommerce orders, and handle stock securely (up to 20kg). Rainbow Tick certification and Mental Health First Aid initiatives reflect our caring culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer facing role (retail experience preferred).
• Ability to lift stock up to 20kg.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service excellence and product advice to pet parents.
• Fulfill eCommerce orders and process in-store transactions.
• Assist with stock handling and store upkeep, including lifting heavy items.

You'll join our Blenheim team full of passionate animal lovers. We're a vibrant, busy store, with a loyal customer base and warm and inviting atmosphere, plus, we have onsite parking available.

This is a casual role, where flexibility is required, with the availability to work weekends, weekdays and public holidays.

What will I be doing?

This isn't your regular customer service role. Here at Animates, the advice you give and the products you sell make a real difference to the lives of pets.

Our values-led culture and extensive training will develop your expertise to provide specialist nutrition advice, suggest educational toys and know what fish species make good tank-mates + much more! Other daily tasks include fulfilling eCommerce orders, and you may be required to lift heavy items e.g. bags of dog food.

You'll pride yourself on delivering customer service excellence, proactively seek solutions and be committed to ongoing learning.

To be successful you'll also have:

• Physical ability to lift stock (up to 20kg)
