Job summary

Langham Hospitality Group, Cordis Auckland, is seeking a dedicated Safety & Security Officer to protect colleagues and guests across a dynamic hotel environment. You will monitor safety functions, support health and safety initiatives, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

We’re looking for a passionate, tech-savvy individual to join our Safety & Security team. This is not your typical security guard role - it’s a dynamic position where every day is different, and you’ll play a key part in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and guests.

The role

As a Safety & Security Officer, you’ll:

• Manage and monitor the hotel’s safety and security functions, ensuring a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
• Support the implementation of the hotel’s Health & Safety programme, ensuring compliance with workplace standards and procedures.
• Educate colleagues and managers on safety, security, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular property patrols and respond to incidents as they occur.
• Manage CCTV systems and assist with investigations.
• Escort colleagues to the staff carpark during late shifts.

About you

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Confident using technology and completing reports.
• Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA) from the Department of Justice or be in the process of obtaining one.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Available to work on a rotating roster across 7 days, including morning, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Previous security or law enforcement experience is an advantage but not required.
• Professional grooming and presentation are essential.
