Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Nurse Educator to lead professional development for nurses across Southern Rural services in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti or Taumarunui Hospital. The role focuses on educational leadership, clinical expertise, and equity-focused care.

The successful candidate will support undergraduate and new graduate nurses, collaborate with clinical leaders, and strengthen partnerships across the Te Manawa Taki region, with a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and

Qualifications

Current annual practising certificate with NZNC.
Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to improving Māori health outcomes.
At least four years' post-registration NZ rural experience.
Proven experience facilitating and assessing learning in clinical environments.
Expert or Proficient level on the Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP).
Postgraduate study completed (evidence).
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Current full NZ driver’s licence.

Plan, implement and evaluate nurse education initiatives.
Support undergraduate students and new graduates.
Collaborate with nurse educators and clinical leaders to drive education strategy.
Embed culturally safe, equity-focused care in practice.
