Job summary

Kindercare North Shore Centres is seeking a casual Reliever Cook/Reliever Teacher to prepare nutritious vegetarian meals for children and support teaching staff when needed. The role offers daytime hours with no evenings or weekends, and a friendly team environment.

The successful candidate will have NZ residency or a NZ work visa, be able to pass police vetting, and thrive in a warm, cooperative setting with flexible scheduling during school holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing healthy vegetarian meals for children.
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
• Ability to manage time and multitask in a busy kitchen.

Are you a creative cook with a flair for healthy food, who also loves working directly with children? We are seeking a multi-talented individual to join our friendly teams at our Kindercare North Shore Centres in a flexible, casual reliever role.

This unique position allows you to step in as our Reliever Cook to prepare nutritious vegetarian meals, while also having the availability to work as a Reliever Teacher alongside our teaching team when needed. If you want a rewarding, energetic role with no evening or weekend work, this is the perfect fit!

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Competent in preparing, cooking, and serving healthy vegetarian meals that children love, following our recipes.
• Able to safely meet the specific dietary and allergy requirements of children.
• Committed to the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, food safety, and policies.
• Willing to take care of some light cleaning and laundry tasks as required.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm when working with different age groups.
• A cheerful multi-tasker with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work up to 8 hours a day when needed, often at short notice or during school holidays.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.

• Willingness to undergo police vetting.
