Job summary

Massey University - Te Kunenga Ki Pūrehuroa is seeking a Reliever Cook for our Kindercare North Shore Centres. The role focuses on preparing healthy vegetarian meals for children and may also involve supporting the teaching team as a Reliever Teacher when needed.

This casual reliever position offers daytime hours between 7.00am and 6.00pm with no evenings or weekends, a supportive team environment, and opportunities to work across multiple age groups during school terms.

Qualifications

• Competent in preparing, cooking, and serving healthy vegetarian meals for children
• Able to meet dietary and allergy requirements for children
• Committed to kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and policies
• Willing to do light cleaning and laundry tasks
• Flexible and enthusiastic with different age groups
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa
• Willingness to undergo police vetting

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious vegetarian meals following recipes
• Ensure meals meet dietary/allergy requirements
• Maintain high kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
• Assist with light cleaning and laundry tasks as required
• Adapt to different age groups and busy school terms
• Communicate effectively with team and children
• Work up to 8 hours a day when needed, including school holidays

This unique position allows you to step in as our Reliever Cook to prepare nutritious vegetarian meals, while also having the availability to work as a Reliever Teacher alongside our teaching team when needed.
