Job summary

Evolve Education Group in Palmerston North is seeking a flexible Reliever Cook/Teacher to join our Kindercare North Shore centres. The role offers daytime hours, no evenings or weekends, and involves preparing nutritious vegetarian meals and supporting our teaching team when needed.

You will follow our recipes, meet dietary requirements, maintain high kitchen hygiene, and be willing to light-clean and help with laundry.

Qualifications

• NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Willingness to undergo police vetting.
• Casual reliever role with daytime hours (7am–6pm) and no evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious vegetarian meals for children.

This unique position allows you to step in as our Reliever Cook to prepare nutritious vegetarian meals, while also having the availability to work as a Reliever Teacher alongside our teaching team when needed. Able to safely meet the specific dietary and allergy requirements of children.

Willing to take care of some light cleaning and laundry tasks as required.

Flexibility and enthusiasm when working with different age groups.

A cheerful multi-tasker with excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Flexibility to work up to 8 hours a day when needed, often at short notice or during school holidays.

Good written and spoken English communication skills.
