Job summary

M Gallery in Queenstown is seeking attentive housekeeping professionals to join our luxury team. You will clean and service guest rooms to 5-star standards, replenish amenities, and assist guests with requests.

The role requires a positive attitude, strong eye for detail, and the ability to work autonomously or in a team. Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of luxury hotel experience, are fluent in English, and can handle a physically demanding environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Replenish guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms.
• Report any lost property following correct procedures.
• Carry out programmed cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled per hotel policy.
• Use and maintain equipment; report defects.
• Assist with equipment stocktaking and room preparation.
• Maintain security of keys and rooms per procedures.
• Handle cleaning agents safely per regulations and instructions.
• Assist guests with requests or refer to supervisor as needed.
• Provide turn-down service and balcony/carpets cleaning as required.

Job Description

Your Luxury Purpose: Deliver heartfelt care and sanctuary for guests in the provision of beautifully cleaned and serviced rooms.

A hands on role with training provided, your shifts will include the cleaning of guest rooms to the expected standard of an upscale 5-star property.

You are friendly and engaging, with a real eye for detail. We are looking for team players and are able to work in a physically demanding role.

• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
• Report any lost property following correct.
• Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.
• Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual.
• Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
• Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures. Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.
• Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers instructions.
• Assist guests with any requests for information or service they require. Refer any requests out of your authority to your supervisor.
• Assist in providing our guests with turn down service.
• Clean balconies, balcony furniture and railings.
• Clean carpets.
• Responsible for de-scaling shower heads, bleach grouting in bathroom and toilets and general upkeep of bedrooms.
• Help colleagues when necessary (extra beds, bed boards, make beds)
• Engage warmly with guests, using emotional intelligence and initiative to support in five star luxury service.
• Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms.

• You can co-ordinate various tasks simultaneously.
• Must hold a clean police record
