Job summary

AccorHotel NZ is seeking a Team Leader for our luxury dining service. You will manage shifts, drive guest satisfaction, and lead a talented team to deliver exceptional hospitality. The role emphasizes quality service, hygiene, and cost controls while supporting revenue initiatives.

You will engage with VIP guests, supervise staff, and uphold brand standards, ensuring a seamless and memorable guest experience in a high-end setting within our New Zealand hotel network.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 months supervisory experience in a busy food and beverage environment.
  • Experience in a 5-star hospitality setting preferred.
  • Able to lead shift teams and train staff.
  • Strong personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
  • Knowledge of wine list and menu helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional food and beverage service is provided to all guests.
  • Provide guests an experience and environment that meets their expectations.
  • Familiarise yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests are met.
  • Maintain weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant to achieve high hygiene standards.
  • Record stock takes and carry out regular inventory checks.
  • Ensure staff are competent in dining menu and wine knowledge to maximise sales.
  • Attend regular meetings with Restaurant & Bar Manager and Director of Culinary.
  • Lead by example and manage staff performance under supervision.
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol to all guests by staff.

Main Purpose of the Job

Be accountable on a shift basis for the efficient running of the food and beverage service areas through effective people management and service excellence. Support revenue initiatives and maintain cost controls whilst providing total customer satisfaction with all customer contact. This role is ‘hands on’, working as part of a team to provide efficient 5 star service. Share your passion for food & beverage, exploring innovative ways to enhance every guest experience, leading your shift team, with elevated communication and exemplary outlook. Strive to achieve pioneering heights in luxury hospitality, maintaining the highest quality standards in food & beverage service, ensuring the integral hygiene & safety practices and overseeing responsibility for your shift's financial performance

Duties
  • Ensure efficient, friendly and professional food and beverage service is provided to all guests.
  • Provide for guests and patrons an experience and environment they feel meets their expectations.
  • Familiarise yourself with VIP and regular guests to ensure their requests and needs are met.
  • Maintain control of restaurant service equipment, correctly recording breakages and carry our regular stock takes.
  • Maintain a weekly cleaning schedule for the restaurant to achieve the highest possible hygiene and cleaning standards.
  • Ensure all mis-en-place is completed prior to guests arriving.
  • Ensure staff are competent in dining menu and wine list knowledge and can maximise sales to guests.
  • Ensure the front-of-house and back-of-house areas are clean and tidy.
  • Ensure guest billing is completed accurately following hotel procedure and that correct charges are posted.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Restaurant & Bar Manager and Director of Culinary.
Supervisory
  • Use department procedure manuals as a base for all service procedures training.
  • Properly induct new staff into the team, department and hotel in the first week of their employment.
  • Ensure that all staff under your control carry out their duties in accordance with the service standards and procedures manuals to meet departmental / hotel service standards and brand standards.
  • Effectively utilise data and feedback to improve product and service delivery.
  • Openly communicate with staff ensuring regular briefings occur and all relevant information is passed onto staff.
  • Delegate duties so all aspects of the shift are covered
  • Lead by example to maintain good staff morale.
  • Manage staff within performance guidelines.
  • Ensure that all staff adhere to the licence conditions held by the premise.
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol to all guests by staff.
