Job summary

Hotel St Moritz, MGallery in Queenstown is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Attendant to deliver heartfelt care and sanctuary for guests by cleaning and servicing rooms to five-star standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months 5 star/Luxury experience
• Fluent English
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Great team player with good fitness for a physically demanding role
• Eye for detail and high cleanliness standards
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must hold a clean police record

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Replenish guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms.
• Report any lost property following correct procedures.
• Carry out programmed/regular cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with hotel policy.
• Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defects per procedures.
• Maintain department equipment to a high standard.
• Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
• Ensure security of keys and guest rooms by adherence to security procedures.
• Understand correct usage and storage of cleaning agents per health and safety regulations.
• Assist guests with requests and refer beyond authority to supervisor.
• Assist in providing turn-down service.
• Clean balconies, furniture and railings.
• Clean carpets.
• Descale shower heads, grout, and keep bedrooms clean.
• Help colleagues with extra beds and setup.
• Engage warmly with guests using emotional intelligence and initiative.
• Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms.

Job Description

Your Luxury Purpose:Deliver heartfelt care and sanctuary for guests in the provision of beautifully cleaned and serviced rooms.

A hands on role with training provided, your shifts will include the cleaning of guest rooms to the expected standard of an upscale 5-star property.

You are friendly and engaging, with a real eye for detail. We are looking for team players and are able to work in a physically demanding role.

• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
• Report any lost property following correct.
• Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.
• Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual.
• Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
• Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures. Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.
• Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers instructions.
• Assist guests with any requests for information or service they require. Refer any requests out of your authority to your supervisor.
• Assist in providing our guests with turn down service.
• Clean balconies, balcony furniture and railings.
• Clean carpets.
• Responsible for de-scaling shower heads, bleach grouting in bathroom and toilets and general upkeep of bedrooms.
• Help colleagues when necessary (extra beds, bed boards, make beds)
• Engage warmly with guests, using emotional intelligence and initiative to support in five star luxury service.
• Ability to work alone when required cleaning rooms.
