Job summary

Movenpick Hotel Wellington is a luxurious 5-star hotel in the heart of Wellington, offering waterfront views and top-notch amenities. We are seeking two energetic Housekeeping Room Attendants to join our team on a rotating part-time roster, with weekend availability a must.

You will maintain pristine guest rooms, add personalised touches, and ensure guest privacy and property safety. Prior housekeeping experience is preferred; NZ residency or a permanent NZ work visa is required, with staff

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred in hotel industry or similar
• Eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness
• Friendly, customer-focused attitude with drive to satisfy guests
• Ability and flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends & public holidays
• NZ residency or permanent NZ work visa required (no immigration sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Clean all assigned guest rooms to standard
• Personalise guest experiences
• Protect guests’ privacy and belongings while delivering exceptional service
• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated
• Replenish guest supplies and advertising materials to room type standards
• Report lost property and equipment issues following procedures
• Carry out programmed cleaning duties and manage guest laundry as needed
• Handle equipment safely and report defects
• Maintain department equipment to high standard and assist with stocktaking
• Ensure secure keys and room access following security procedures
• Understand correct use and storage of cleaning agents per health & safety rules
• Fulfil any other reasonable request from Supervisor or Hotel Management

Job Description

We are seeking two energetic and passionate Housekeeping Room Attendants to join our dedicated Housekeeping Team at Movenpick Wellington, on a Part Time basis working on rotating roster - availability to work on Saturdays and Sundays is a must!

In this role you will work within guest rooms, ensuring each room is kept clean, tidy and immaculately presented at all times. We are seeking people who go that extra mile to provide a memorable guest experience.

• Clean all assigned guest rooms to standard
• Take initiative to add a personalised experience for the guest
• Take ownership of guests’ privacy and belongings, while ensuring exceptional service
• Clean guest rooms, storage areas and corridors as allocated.
• Ensure guest supplies and advertising material in bedrooms and bathrooms are replenished to the correct standards for the room type.
• Report any lost property following correct.
• Carry out programmed / regular cleaning duties as allocated.
• Ensure guest laundry is handled in line with Hotel policy.
• Use and clean equipment with care, reporting any defective equipment as set down in procedures manual.
• Ensure all department equipment is maintained to a high standard.
• Assist with regular equipment stocktaking.
• Ensure the security of keys and guest rooms at all times by adherence to security procedures. Report any suspicious persons or items to Supervisor.
• Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning agents in line with health and safety regulations and manufacturers instructions.
• Any other reasonable request as required by your Supervisor or Hotel Management.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably within the hotel industry or similar
• Have an eye for detail and an uncompromising approach to standards of cleanliness
• A friendly, customer-focused attitude with the drive to provide total customer satisfaction
• Initiative to ensure that interactions with colleagues and customers are positive and efficient
• The ability and flexibility to work across a 7 day roster – Including weekends and public holidays
• You will have NZ residency or be holding a permanent NZ work visa. (immigration visa support or sponsorship is not available with this role)
