Job summary

Downer & Company is seeking a Cyclic Patrol Person to join our Transport and Infrastructure team in the Mokau/Taumarunui area. You will conduct programmed road inspections, perform routine maintenance, and respond to emergencies to keep roads safe and accessible for the public.

The role involves pavement repairs, drainage maintenance, vegetation control, and clearing obstructions while prioritising safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Current Class 2 Driver Licence is required.
• Experience in road maintenance or civil construction is highly regarded.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental practices.
• Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
• Good communication and reporting skills are essential.
• Willingness to participate in an after-hours callout roster.

Responsibilities

• Undertake programmed road inspections and routine maintenance.
• Respond to emergency events to keep roading networks safe and accessible.
• Carry out pavement repairs, drainage maintenance and vegetation control.
• Clear road obstructions and ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
• Work independently, adapt to changing field requirements, and participate in after-hours duties.
