Job summary

Invercargill City Council is seeking an experienced Network Operations and Roading Manager to lead the delivery, maintenance and performance of our transport and roading networks. The role requires guiding a skilled team to deliver safe, reliable services in a dynamic council environment, based in Invercargill, New Zealand.

You will apply your civil/transport infrastructure knowledge to asset management input and continuous improvement across public transport operations and road networks,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in civil/transport infrastructure.
• At least 8 years' experience in transport operations and roading maintenance.
• At least 3 years' experience leading people.
• Strong knowledge of transport network operations and service delivery.
• Good understanding of NZ transport environment and local government responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate team members.
• Oversee day-to-day transport network operations and public transport services.
• Establish QA, inspection and audit systems for standards and contractual requirements.
• Implement monitoring programmes for network condition and contractor performance.
• Oversee contractor and operational contract performance across transport functions.
• Ensure corridor management and network access processes support safe operation.
• Provide input into asset management planning and investment decisions.
