We are seeking an experienced Asset Planning Engineer to manage the Roading and Transportation asset management system(s) and deliver the Transportation Activity Management Plan.

About the Role:

This role is responsible for ensuring asset management planning is undertaken in accordance with asset management best practice and complies with all Council and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Roading and Transportation asset management systems.

• Lead the development and delivery of the Transportation Activity Management Plan.

• Ensure compliance with NZ Transport Agency requirements and Audit NZ standards.

• Coordinate the annual Roading and Transport asset revaluation process.

• Oversee asset condition assessment programmes and data quality.

• Deliver accurate and timely internal and external asset performance reporting.

About You:

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience in asset management planning within a transportation, roading, infrastructure, or local government environment.

• Strong knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning, and asset data management.

• Experience using RAMM and an understanding of NZ Transport Agency requirements.

• Sound financial, budgeting, and reporting skills.

• The ability to analyse complex information and translate it into practical recommendations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
