Job summary

SouthRoads in Balclutha is seeking a Network Inspector to join the Clutha Maintenance team. This hands-on role inspects the road network, identifies maintenance requirements and manages requests from customers, crews and subcontractors to keep the network safe and well maintained.

You will work closely with Clutha District Council and use RAMM to maintain records, assist with programming, and monitor safety and environmental compliance while responding to emergencies when required.

Qualifications

• Experience in road maintenance, roading construction or network inspection.
• Knowledge of pavement defects, edge breaks, stabilisation and resealing activities.
• Experience identifying and prioritising maintenance requirements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience working with RAMM or similar asset management systems.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements in the civil construction industry.
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine inspections of the road network and identify pavement, shoulder and roadside defects.
• Assess maintenance needs and recommend appropriate repair or treatment options.
• Manage Customer Service Requests (RFS), including investigation, response, programming and close-out.
• Coordinate and support the delivery of stabilisation and pavement resealing programmes.
• Liaise with stabilisation and resealing crews and subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, work histories and asset information within RAMM.
• Assist with monthly programming and work prioritisation.
• Liaise with Clutha District Council representatives regarding maintenance requirements and customer enquiries.
• Monitor quality, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
• Respond to network issues and emergency events when required.
