Job summary

Higgins is seeking a permanent full-time Traffic Management Worker for the Green Team in Manawatū-Whanganui. You will coordinate and control traffic, set up barriers, signs and cones, and help pedestrians to keep workspaces safe for colleagues.

You’ll work with a supportive team, with guaranteed 40 hours per week, a KiwiSaver match and opportunities to upskill including licences. Pre-employment drug testing may apply.

Qualifications

• Traffic management experience or willingness to train.
• TTMW Level 1 qualification desirable.
• NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control traffic to keep flows safe.
• Set up barriers, signs, and cones to create safe workspaces.
• Assist pedestrians and answer questions from residents.
• Support team with day-to-day traffic management tasks.

Job description

The Green Team at our branch in Manawatu Region are looking for a permanent full time temporary traffic management worker to join our growing Traffic Management division.

Your role will be to coordinate and control traffic, keep traffic flowing safely by watching, setting up barriers, signs and cone to provide safe workspaces for your colleagues. You’ll also help pedestrians and answer questions from residents.

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Traffic Management experience or willingness to train
• TTMW Qualification (Level 1 minimum) is desirable
• Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver’s Licence (essential)
• Experience operating or working with shadow vehicles
• A safety-first attitude – for yourself, your team and the public
• Reliable, punctual, and motivated
• High level of physical fitness
• A team player with good Problem-solving abilities
