Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Road Maintenance Worker to maintain roads, repair surfaces and ensure safety. The role includes routine maintenance, minor pavement repairs, barrier repairs and general asset upkeep across local networks in New Zealand.

The ideal candidate will hold a NZ Class 2 Drivers Licence, have 2 years in road/civil construction, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and clear communication. Ventia offers a supportive team and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 2 Drivers Licence is required.
• 2 years’ experience in road or civil construction with safe machinery operation.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with a wide range of construction plant equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct road maintenance and plant operations to maintain the road network and perform construction operations.
• Provide routine maintenance including minor pavement repairs, barrier and fencing repairs, drainage and vegetation maintenance, litter/debris removal and asset condition inspections.

The Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for conducting Road Maintenance and Plant Operational duties to maintain the road network and perform construction operations such as machinery operation.

Provide routine maintenance including, minor pavement repairs, barrier repairs, fencing repairs, public walkway and access track maintenance, graffiti removal, vegetation control, drainage system maintenance, litter and debris clearing, asset condition inspections and other general planned or unplanned asset maintenance as required.

About You

• NZ Class 2 Drivers Licence


• Traffic Management Qualification + WTR (Advantageous)


• 2 Years Experience in road or civil construction, including safe and efficient machinery operation


• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills


• Experience in a wide range of construction plant equipment


• Have passion and commitment to safety in the workplace
