Job summary

Ventia in Henderson, Auckland, NZ is seeking a Project Engineer - Pavements to plan, coordinate and deliver pavement construction and rehabilitation projects across the transport network. You will work with operations, subcontractors and clients to ensure delivery safety, timeliness, budget adherence and top quality.

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in pavement construction, road maintenance, or civil projects.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules and delivery outcomes.
• Knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi standards would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive with a focus on safety and quality.

• Develop project plans, methodologies, and construction programmes.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.

• Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and opportunities.
• Prepare project reporting, progress updates, and client communications.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer - Pavements, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering pavement projects from inception through to completion. Working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About You

• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• Previous experience in pavement construction, road maintenance, or civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and delivery outcomes.
• Knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi standards and specifications would be advantageous
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach with a commitment to safety and quality
