Job summary

BayCare Health System in Dunedin, FL, seeks a Registered Nurse for the ICU to deliver high-acuity care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team during night shift hours.

You will be responsible for patient care, monitoring, and ensuring safe transitions with discharge planning, while upholding compassionate bedside manners.

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Diploma/Associate/Bachelor in Nursing
• 1-year ICU experience in Acute Care
• BLS/ACLS certifications

Responsibilities

• Works in hospital setting and independently cares for ICU patients using nursing process and standards
• Delegates patient care activities to health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout recovery in critical care
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments
• Identify sudden changes in patient condition
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care
• Maintain high emotional intelligence to improve patient experience
• Maintain professional accountability and development

• Location: BayCare Alliant Hospital – Integrated ICU – Dunedin, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
• Professional accountability and development
