Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the ICU at Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, FL. The role requires ICU experience, RN licensure, and BLS/ACLS certification. Expect 6:45 AM–7:15 PM shifts with every-other-weekend coverage and no on-call duties.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Diploma/associate/bachelor's in nursing required or higher.
• 1 year ICU RN experience in acute care setting.
• BLS certification with ARC or AHA.
• ACLS certification with AHA.

Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients using nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to health team members.
• Support patient recovery in critical care throughout hospitalization.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and assessments for care team.
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond to emergencies.
• Coordinate discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence to improve patient care experiences.
• Maintain professional accountability and ongoing development.

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse – ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
