Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Registered Nurse for the ICU at Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, FL. The role emphasizes compassionate care, nursing process adherence, and coordination within the ICU team.

Requirements include RN licensure, 1 year ICU experience in acute care, and BLS/ACLS certifications. The position is in person, full-time, with weekend work every other weekend and no on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.

• Ensure continuity of care after discharge through proper referrals.
• Demonstrate high emotional intelligence to enhance patient experience.

• Location: Mease Dunedin Hospital - Medical/Surgical ICU - Dunedin, Florida
• Status: Full Time
• Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• On Call: No
• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate's, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's in Nursing
• 1-year RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

The Registered Nurse - ICU Responsibilities And Skills

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
