KPI Partners in New Zealand is recruiting a Retirement Coach to help clients make informed decisions about their financial future. You will combine financial analysis, retirement planning and coaching to tailor strategies for KiwiSaver, investments, cashflow and insurance.
This client‑facing role focuses on building trust, explaining complex options clearly and guiding clients through practical steps to finish strong in retirement.
As a Retirement Coach, you’ll help New Zealanders make confident, informed decisions about their financial future.
This is a highly client-focused role combining financial analysis, retirement planning and genuine coaching. You’ll take the time to understand each client’s current financial position, what they want retirement to look like, and the steps required to get them there.
Using financial modelling and structured advice, you’ll help clients understand their options across areas such as KiwiSaver, investments, cashflow and retirement planning, turning complex information into a clear and achievable plan.
Success in this role is about more than providing advice. It’s about building trust, motivating clients to take action and helping them feel confident and supported throughout their retirement journey.
Build a detailed understanding of each client’s financial position, goals, priorities and retirement aspirations.
Develop personalised and practical retirement strategies aligned with each client’s circumstances and objectives.
Explain financial concepts, recommendations and potential outcomes in clear, simple and engaging language.
Coach clients through important financial decisions and encourage them to take meaningful action towards their goals.
Recommend appropriate solutions across KiwiSaver, investments, cashflow management and insurance, or connect clients with specialist advisers where required.
Prepare clear written retirement plans, recommendations and agreed next steps.
Maintain accurate and compliant client records across all advice, conversations and outcomes.
Build strong ongoing relationships with clients and proactively re-engage those who may have fallen out of the advice journey.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, advisers and specialist partners to deliver the best possible client outcomes.
Ensure all advice and client activity meets regulatory, compliance, risk and FAP requirements.
Experience within financial services, ideally in financial advice, wealth, investments, KiwiSaver, retirement planning or a client-facing advisory environment.
Strong commercial awareness and experience working in a sales, advice or target-driven environment.
Good knowledge of KiwiSaver, managed funds, investments and retirement planning principles.
Confidence analysing financial information and translating it into clear, practical recommendations.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.
A natural ability to build trust, influence decisions and work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds.
An empathetic and consultative approach, with a genuine interest in helping people achieve better financial outcomes.
Good understanding of compliance, risk and documentation requirements within regulated financial services.
Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and priorities.
Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services - Investments, or currently working towards the qualification.
Previous experience in retirement planning, financial advice, investment advice or wealth management.
Experience using financial modelling or retirement planning tools.
Exposure to Investment & Kiwisaver products, systems or similar financial services platforms.
Experience working alongside financial advisers or specialist advice partners to deliver broader client solutions.
