Qualifications

  • Relevant financial services qualifications as listed (NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 or National Certificate Level 5, Investments & Insurance).
  • Strong client-focused advisory mindset and ethical approach required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive financial needs analysis and discovery meetings with clients to understand and review their goals and circumstances.
  • Developing personalised financial advice and recommending appropriate products and strategies.
  • Preparing detailed financial plans and presenting recommendations to clients clearly.
  • Providing ongoing advice on investments, retirement planning, insurance, and other financial matters.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular contact and exceptional service delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate client records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure current advice.
  • Contributing to business development and client acquisition/retention.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Adviser to join our team in Lower Hutt, Wellington on a full-time basis. As a Financial Adviser, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality financial advice and services to our diverse client base. You will work closely with clients to understand their financial needs, develop tailored solutions, and help them navigate complex financial decisions with confidence.

Key responsibilities
  • Conducting comprehensive financial needs analysis and discovery meetings with clients to understand & review their financial goals and circumstances
  • Developing personalised financial advice and recommending appropriate financial products and strategies aligned with client objectives
  • Preparing detailed financial plans and presenting recommendations to clients in a clear and accessible manner
  • Providing ongoing advice and support to clients regarding investments, retirement planning, insurance, and other financial matters
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular contact and exceptional service delivery
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate client records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and financial products to ensure advice remains current and relevant
  • Contributing to business development activities and identifying opportunities to support client acquisition and retention
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices across the team
What we're looking for
  • Relevant financial services qualifications, namely the NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) or the National Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5), both endorsed in Investments & Insurance.
  • A genuine passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals and improve their financial wellbeing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in accessible language
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple client relationships effectively
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to pursue professional certifications or qualifications relevant to the financial planning industry
  • A professional and ethical approach to client relationships and business conduct
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic with a collaborative team approach
  • Willingness to develop expertise across various areas of financial planning, including investments, retirement, insurance, and tax-effective strategies
