Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a friendly Retail Store Assistant for our Queenstown store. You will greet customers, help locate products, and uphold store presentation while supporting daily operations.

The role offers hands‑on retail experience, with opportunities to develop customer service skills and contribute to a positive shopping experience for the local community. Weekend availability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience is an advantage, but not essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A friendly, helpful, and positive demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and some public holidays, as required by store operations in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with inquiries and product location.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, fitting rooms, and stock areas.
• Replenish merchandise on the sales floor to ensure products are readily available.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking, and processing new inventory.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
• Handle customer issues and complaints politely and efficiently, escalating when necessary.
• Support visual merchandising efforts by arranging displays and maintaining presentation standards.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines relevant to the Queenstown store.
