Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Retail Inventory Specialist to manage stock control and inventory accuracy at their Queenstown location. You will conduct regular stocktakes, analyze data, and implement procedures to improve inventory management, with emphasis on minimizing shrinkage and ensuring product availability for customers.

About the Role

This role is fundamental to optimizing stock levels, minimizing shrinkage, and ensuring that products are available for customers. You will be responsible for conducting regular stocktakes, analyzing inventory data, and implementing procedures to improve overall inventory management. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of inventory control principles within a retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
• Monitor stock levels and identify fast-moving and slow-moving items to optimize ordering.
• Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage.
• Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to stock management.
• Work closely with store staff and management to ensure efficient handling and storage of merchandise.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Inventory Specialist or in a similar inventory management role within retail.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles, stocktaking procedures, and loss prevention techniques.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and POS systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further qualification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
