Job summary

Rolleston Sam Singh Farming Ltd is seeking a Restaurant Manager to oversee the smooth running of the café in Rolleston, Canterbury. You will excel in customer service and lead a team to deliver high-quality dining experiences, while ensuring efficient operations and cost awareness.

Qualifications

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role or a level 4+ qualification in Business/Commerce/Management/Sales or a related field.
Strong teamwork and the ability to follow instructions.
Physically fit and willing to work hard.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily cafe operations ensuring smooth service and timely execution.
Collaborate with chefs to plan, develop, and update menus that are cost effective and appealing.
Plan and manage events, group bookings, and seasonal promotions to boost engagement and revenue.
Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise front-of-house and kitchen staff.
Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest engagement.
Monitor and control operating costs to maximise profitability.
Ensure the cafe complies with health, safety and food hygiene regulations.
Utilise digital tools for roster scheduling, payroll, and supplier orders.
