Job summary

Auckland Council seeks a Resource Consents Team Leader in Henderson to lead a team of planners, drive KPI achievement, and deliver high-quality environmental outcomes. You will review consent decisions, participate in unit operations, and mentor staff, with a flexible hybrid office arrangement.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years in urban planning/resource management, leadership experience, and knowledge of RMA/AUP, plus a relevant tertiary qualification and NZ driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of leadership experience in planning/resource management.
• Strong technical knowledge of RMA and AUP.
• Awareness of proposed legislative changes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• At least 8 years in urban planning/resource management and tertiary qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and coach a team of planners.
• Review and decide on resource consents under delegation.
• Contribute to unit operations and decision making.
• Ensure good customer service and high-quality environmental and urban outcomes.
