Job summary

Metlifecare Edgewater Village in Pakuranga is seeking a sociable Social Coordinator to plan and run events for independent living residents. You will drive the village bus, organise outings, and help create a welcoming, connected community.

The role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am–4pm, with occasional weekend work for village events. A full NZ driver's license and First Aid certificate are preferred; training can be provided.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a sociable and creative thinker who can organise great events for residents.
• Experience coordinating activities and outings is preferred.
• Strong written materials like posters and newsletters with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Village run calendar of events and organise functions & outings
• Connect with community groups & organisations on new activities
• Contribute to newsletters, flyers and social media posts
• Support the use of technology to enhance social connectivity, such as virtual events
• Drive the Village bus and escort residents on excursions
