Job summary

WSP New Zealand in Auckland is seeking a Renewable Energy Lead to drive strategic growth and deliver complex projects across the Power & Energy sub-sector.

Reporting to the Director of Power & Energy, you will establish growth plans, lead teams of professionals, and nurture client relationships to win new opportunities.

This hands-on leadership role requires deep industry knowledge in wind, solar, or energy storage, strong technical writing, and the ability to travel around NZ to meet clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in project management, CRM, or programme delivery.
• Qualified in renewable energy project development.
• 7+ years' experience as advisory consultant in wind, solar, or battery energy storage.
• Proven people leadership, leading teams through project development stages.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional brand to win new work.
• Track record in business development and pursuing key pursuits.
• Strong technical report writing.
• Comfortable with hands-on delivery and sector strategy.
• Willingness to travel around NZ

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Renewable Energy sub-sector.
• Drive local client engagement, business development and technical excellence.
• Lead projects from inception through delivery and client liaison.
• Shape national strategy for NZ generation market.
• Mentor and lead teams of professionals across project development stages.
