Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Data & AI Governance Specialist to shape how data is managed as a strategic asset and govern AI responsibly. You will enable teams to innovate with confidence while upholding Responsible Data Use commitments.

You will partner across teams to translate governance policies into practical guidance, tackle bias, transparency, and explainability, and advise on guardrails for safe experimentation at scale.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices.
• Hands-on AI governance experience and ability to bridge policy and practice.
• Experience working with engineers and technical experts to implement governance.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Evolve privacy, data and AI governance frameworks for rapid, responsible use.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate policies into practical guidance at scale.
• Deliver literacy programs and educational resources to uplift governance capabilities.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Privacy, and Risk teams to stay ahead of evolving laws.
