Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join a remote team supporting multiple underground mining operations. You will design, model, and optimize ventilation networks to ensure safe air quality, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering with a ventilation focus, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency in Ventsim or VentGraph. Remote collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining or mechanical engineering with a ventilation focus.
• Minimum 6 years in mine ventilation, preferably underground.
• Proficiency in Ventsim, VentGraph or similar modeling tools.
• Strong thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality knowledge.
• Experience with environmental monitoring techniques.
• Excellent analytical and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize ventilation networks for adequate airflow and contaminant control.
• Conduct airflow, temperature, humidity, and gas concentration surveys/modeling.
• Develop strategies for dust, heat, and environmental hazards compliance.
• Select and specify ventilation equipment (fans, ducting, auxiliary systems).
• Monitor performance and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with planning and operations to integrate ventilation needs.
