Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Specialist to join our fully remote team, supporting operations from Queenstown and surrounding areas in New Zealand. You will implement and maintain security controls to protect data and IT systems, across vulnerability management, awareness training, and incident response support.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in IT/CS and 2–4 years in information security, with knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, network security, and endpoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field.
• 2–4 years in information security.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, network security, and endpoint protection.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and basic incident handling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
• CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and management of security solutions and technologies.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts across systems and applications.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training materials to employees.
• Support incident response activities by assisting in investigations and documentation.
• Monitor security systems and respond to alerts as needed.
• Maintain security documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of security procedures and best practices.
