Placements24 is seeking a Grid Integration Engineer for remote work within South Africa. The role focuses on ensuring stable interconnection of new generation sources and renewable projects to the national grid.

You will conduct technical studies, develop interconnection standards, and collaborate with project developers and internal teams to enable seamless integration. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in power system analysis or grid planning, proficiency with PSS/E, DIgSILENT, PSCAD, and strong

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems.
• 5+ years of power system analysis or grid planning experience.
• Experience with PSS/E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, PSCAD.
• Strong knowledge of grid codes and interconnection standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Able to work effectively in a remote SA setting.

Responsabilidades

• Perform grid interconnection studies, including power flow, short circuit, and stability analysis for new generation facilities.
• Develop and apply grid codes and technical requirements for the interconnection of distributed and utility-scale energy resources.
• Collaborate with renewable energy project developers to ensure compliance with grid interconnection standards.
• Review and approve interconnection applications and associated technical documentation.
• Identify potential grid impacts and mitigate to maintain grid reliability and power quality.
• Work with transmission and distribution planning teams to assess grid infrastructure for new generation.
• Develop and maintain models of the power system for analysis purposes.
• Stay current with advancements in grid technologies and regulatory frameworks.
• Provide technical expertise and support to other departments.
