Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Systems Designer to join a remote-first team delivering advanced industrial automation solutions. You will design electrical control systems, create schematics, and develop BOMs, collaborating across disciplines to meet IEC/ISO safety standards.

The role emphasizes PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and robust CAD skills, with a focus on delivering reliable, scalable industrial controls for diverse applications from a home office in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in electrical control system design and specification.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent schematic design software.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial automation components.
• Familiarity with Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for industrial automation projects, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Specify components such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, relays, and power distribution equipment.
• Create detailed panel layout drawings and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical control panels and systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and project teams to ensure integrated system design.
