Job summary

Relx Plc, a global leader in legal technology and AI, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel – Pacific to support Australia and New Zealand. You will advise on commercial matters, draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, and drive AI-enabled initiatives with autonomy.

You will partner with senior stakeholders across the region, manage complex contracts, and help scale technology-driven products while maintaining commercial pragmatism and sound judgment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ PQE and admission to practice in Australia or New Zealand, with a current practicing certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Experience with drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience in top-tier, national or international law firms or large corporate in-house teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including B2B customer agreements, content licences, supplier and technology agreements.
• Negotiate directly with customers, suppliers and other counterparties.
• Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice balancing legal risk with business objectives.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand.
• Support key business projects and AI-enabled solutions.
• Utilise generative AI tools to improve efficiency and quality of legal delivery.
• Develop templates, playbooks and guidance for the wider business.
