Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Civil Infrastructure Engineer for a fully remote role based in New Zealand. You will plan and design roads, drainage, water and sewer networks, using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydraulic/hydrology tools.

You will manage projects, perform feasibility studies, liaise with clients, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with standards and environmental regulations while delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA required.
• Minimum 6 years' progressive experience in design and management of civil infrastructure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydraulic/hydrology modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of municipal services design, road design and earthworks.
• Experience with environmental impact assessments and regulatory approvals.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work remotely.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects and liaise with clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan civil infrastructure projects such as roads, earthworks, drainage systems, and water/sewer networks.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and tender documents.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
• Ensure designs comply with national/local standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients.
• Provide technical support during construction, including site supervision and quality control.
• Analyze project requirements and develop cost-effective, sustainable design solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians; manage project documentation and schedules.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in civil infrastructure.
