Job summary

OJI Fibre Solutions, based in Levin, NZ, seeks a Reliability Engineer to lead the predictive and preventative maintenance program, improve plant reliability and reduce downtime across a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will drive RCA-driven problem solving, mentor teams and collaborate with suppliers while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Ideal candidate has 3+ years in reliability engineering, experience with pneumatics/hydraulics, Lean

Qualifications

3 years + experience working in a Reliability Engineering role, with proven successfully delivered projects.
Experience managing and improving machinery reliability in a modern high-speed manufacturing environment.
Experience in pneumatics, hydraulic systems with a working knowledge of engineering methods.
Strong health and safety culture including knowledge of permit to work systems, LOTO and machine guarding.
Comfortable running RCA workshops with a cross functional team to deliver up results.
Formal training in Lean principles advantageous.
RCA Best Practice knowledge.
Project management experience.
Total Preventative Maintenance experience.
Experience using a CMMS system (MEX, SAP etc)
Computer literate in Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Responsibilities

Improving plant reliability by reviewing current results and ensuring correct execution of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
To reduce or eliminate unplanned downtime, decrease recovery time and extend manufacturing equipment life through the optimisation of reliability centred maintenance programs, data collection and regular risk-based inspections
Resolving major breakdowns and roadblocks to productivity using RCA and other collaborative problem-solving techniques
Adopt and teach Reliability techniques to maintenance and production staff
Focus on continuous improvement working with the current maintenance team to design and implement improvements to existing equipment and processes
Identifying and dealing with barriers to improving engineering performance
Managing effective relationships with suppliers and contractors
Supporting Health & Safety culture within the team
