Job summary

Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind – Wellington is seeking a part-time Relationships Manager to grow and strengthen our network of major donors, corporate partners and community supporters across the lower North Island. You’ll identify prospective donors, build lasting connections and secure major gifts and sponsorship opportunities.

You’ll research new fundraising opportunities, develop compelling propositions and deliver donor stewardship to demonstrate impact.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ fundraising experience.
  • Proven track record of prospecting and securing gifts from $25,000 to $1 million.
  • Experience developing fundraising propositions and managing prospects through Moves Management processes.
  • Strong relationship management across internal and external stakeholders with EI and judgment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of gift-in-Wills fundraising.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and strengthen our network of high-value supporters, businesses and community partners across the lower North Island.
  • Identify and develop prospective and existing donors; build meaningful connections.
  • Secure major gifts and corporate and sponsorship opportunities.

We have an exciting permanent, part time (18.75 – 22.5hrs per week) opportunity to join our high-performing Engagement & Marketing team as Relationships Manager, based in Wellington. This is a relationship-focused role where you’ll play a key part in growing and strengthening our network of high value supporters, businesses and community partners across the lower North Island. You’ll identify and develop prospective and existing donors, build meaningful connections, and secure major gifts and corporate and sponsorship opportunities.

You’ll research and develop new opportunities, create compelling fundraising propositions, and build long-term relationships through both traditional and innovative approaches. You’ll also plan and deliver effective donor stewardship activities, ensuring our supporters feel valued and connected to the impact of their generosity. With a mix of strategic thinking and hands‑on delivery, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning opportunities into strong, lasting relationships and results.

Some travel throughout the lower North Island will be required.

You’re a confident and engaging communicator who knows how to build trust, open doors and develop relationships that deliver results. You’ll bring:

  • At least 5 years’ fundraising experience, ideally in Major Giving, Partnerships or a similar relationship-focused role.
  • A proven track record of prospecting and securing gifts from $25,000 to $1 million.
  • Experience developing fundraising propositions and managing prospects through Moves Management processes.
  • Strong relationship management skills across internal and external stakeholders, supported by high emotional intelligence, integrity and sound judgement.
  • The ability to work confidently and independently while also contributing positively to a high-performing team.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in gift-in-Wills fundraising.
  • Confidence using the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel.
