Job summary

The Department of Corrections NZ is seeking an Interventions Coordinator to manage and coordinate prisoner interventions within Northland Region’s Corrections Facility. You will liaise with unit staff, learners, and external providers to ensure timely, effective programme delivery and accurate budgeting and resource use.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
• Ability to organise effectively, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Resilience in managing multiple stakeholders and changing demands.
• Experience with purchase ordering and invoicing.
• Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Full NZ driver licence (or eligible to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Planning and organising the implementation of prisoner interventions.
• Liaising with prison unit staff to coordinate interventions within prison units.
• Liaising with prison-based learners when selecting learners to attend interventions.
• Liaising with external service providers and contractors to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Liaising with internal Tutors, Case Managers and Corrections Officers.
• Maintaining timetables for programmes and interventions.
• Allocating and utilising resources effectively.
• Creating purchase orders, processing invoices and managing budgets.
• Compiling and maintaining registers, reports and statistics on programme participation.
