Job summary

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is seeking an Audit Advisor to join the NZ Regulation – Audit Oversight team in Wellington or Auckland. The role supports regulation of members performing assurance engagements, including audits, to promote high standards and public confidence.

You will contribute to regulatory responsibilities by supporting auditor licensing, monitoring activities and engagement with regulators and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written and organisational skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage complex information accurately.
• Well-developed critical thinking skills and sound professional judgement.
• Ability to analyse data and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with a membership body or regulatory environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting auditor licensing and recognition processes, including applications, renewals and relinquishments.
• Monitoring licensed auditors and audit firms through annual confirmations, surveys and CPD sample checks.
• Assisting with annual oversight inspections and follow‑up actions.
• Maintaining regulatory protocols, policies and procedures.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, audit firms and external regulators.
