Job summary

The Environmental Protection Authority in Wellington is seeking an Advisor to help assess and regulate hazardous substances and new organisms. You will provide advice to applicants and decision makers, coordinate across legislation, and manage a busy workload of applications while building strong stakeholder relationships.

You will join a collaborative HSNO group, with opportunities to influence regulatory outcomes, participate in cross-agency work, and contribute to environmental protection,

Qualifications

Experience in regulatory systems is preferred.
Familiar with HSNO Act 1996 and related legislation.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Provide advice and support to applicants and delegated decision makers for the import and manufacture of hazardous substances.
Liaise with submitters, applicants and agencies on statutory decision making.
Manage a busy workload of applications across multiple streams and deadlines.
Build strong, positive connections with customers and communicate effectively.
