About the Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will work across Ward 29 and the new SHANA unit, providing individualised, holistic care to surgical patients.

SHANA is a five-bed, nurse-led, high-acuity surgical area staffed by two Registered Nurses. It cares for patients who require comprehensive monitoring and nursing intervention but do not require ICU or HDU care.

In this role, you will use advanced patient assessment skills, provide heightened nursing vigilance, and apply critical thinking and clinical reasoning to deliver safe and effective patient care.

About you

You will bring:

About the Team/Service

Ward 29 and SHANA provide collaborative, multidisciplinary surgical care within a professional and supportive environment.

Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua – MidCentral is a 350-bed hospital in the city of Palmerston North, Manawatū, a city in the Lower North Island of New Zealand. Palmerston North Hospital is a secondary hospital and offers most medical and surgical specialties with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery. The hospital serves a local population of 180,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000 and draws patients from Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay.
